Code of Racing & Rules

Last updated: 24th March 2024

Definitions:

  1. Leagues

You can organise with your friends a set of leagues depending on the level of competition, and set one of the as a feeder to enter the major one, etc. Now I'll let you use your imagination to create the rest of the rules.

    • MKL: Major Karting League, the best of the rest, I don't even know if that truly makes sense but English isn't my mother tongue and it sounds cool.
The real racing kings, supposedly. The fastest ones. Don't be Perez or you'll be doomed and downgraded.
    • FKS: Feeder Karting Series, the losers league, or the one of those who try to achieve something better. People should always have an opportunity.

  2. Events

All events can be classified in two types depending on the session format:

    • Grand Prix: it consists of a practice session, a qualifying and a race. It may have more than one practice session, but only one qualifying, whether short or long of three sessions with an elimination threshold, just like in F1.
    • Fast session: we're broke and can't afford to pay a GP so often, but still want to go racing, so we just sit and drive the kart for no longer than 15 minutes or so. Time-based session, meaning the fastest is the winner. Points shouldn't be given though and it shan't count for the championship standings.

  3. Championship

The championship will be decided by the points obtained in each event. The points will be awarded to the top finishers in each event, and the fastest lap will also be rewarded with a point. The points system is as follows:

For races with 11 or fewer participants:

    1. 10 points
    2. 8 points
    3. 6 points
    4. 4 points
    5. 3 points
    6. 2 points
    7. 1 point
    8. (e inferior) - 0 points

For races with 12 or more participants (no more than 20 recommended):
    1. 20 points
    2. 17 points
    3. 15 points
    4. 10 points
    5. 8 points
    6. 6 points
    7. 5 points
    8. 4 points
    9. 3 points
    10. 2 points
    11. 1 point
    12. (e inferior) - 0 points

If the session ended unexpectedly, it couldn't last more than 50% of the total estimated time or anything else happened that made the session end abruptly, half points will be awarded if positions are known.

For those who didn't finish the session, the following abbreviations will be used:

    1. DNS: did not start (only used in races)
    2. DNQ: did not qualify (only used in free practice and qualifying sessions)
    3. DSQ: disqualified
    4. DNF: did not finish (only used in races)

There may be situations in which two or more drivers have the same amount of points. In this case, the driver with the most wins will be the champion. If the number of wins is also the same, the driver with the most second places will be the champion. If their statistics also match, the one who gets on better with me wins the higher position, debate settled.

  4. Contact/suggestions

There's a paper shredder in the corner, you can throw your suggestions there. For contact, there's a round brick column there you can hug.
